Operation NYC Recap
What a blast! It was great to hang out with so many interesting people at the Problogger NYC Meetup this past Saturday night. There were all types of bloggers there ranging from those who were just starting out all the way up to bloggers who make their living writing online. In addition to bloggers, there were other fields represented such as social media PR, blog analytics, internet advertising among others. Here’s a quick look at who I was able to meet with at the event:
- Rich Minx writes about making money online, or rather, not making money online. A great light-hearted read.
- Paull Young is a cool bloke who runs Australia’s first student PR blog and does social media PR for a living.
- Rachel Clark writes about the fascinating field of engagement marketing.
- The Technosailor was there in full force. He’s a really fun guy who is also the Director of Technology at b5media.
- The founder of Digitally Imported, an online music streaming service, blogs at A Few Guys From Work.
- Sharon Scherer from Chitika was was great to hang out with; she even gave me an iTunes Gift Card. Bonus!
- Ann Michael blogs about change management with a focus on traditional publishing companies.
- Matt Cerrone writes at his Mets Blog for a living. Really sharp guy.
- Mike Levin and Adam Edwards were there talking about their company, Hittail. Hittail is a interesting service that helps to analyze and promote blogs.
- Erin Moore, a very nice young lady, writes part time at luvmutt.com.
- Jen Koretsky, another very nice young lady, heads up the ADD Management Group.
- Markus Urban comments on the latest happenings in the Web 2.0 arena on behalf of his web development/marketing company, AU Interactive.
- Alex Geana writes for other blogs as a living, including the Huffington Post.
- Sonny and Pete were there for Geezeo. They’re building the “best personal finance application in the world” and from the looks of it, they’re well on their way.
- And of course Darren Rowse who hosted the event was awesome to hang out with. He’s a very laidback and friendly guy that you could just tell was genuinely elated to be meeting and getting to know everyone that attended.
All in all, it was well worth the trip up to New York City to meet so many great people from all walks of life, and I’m very much looking forward to attending future events and conferences.

Erin was a nice young lady and her partner wasn’t even a mean young lady? Or an old nice lady? Something? Anything??
Even though you forgot about me, Chris, it was nice meeting you! Great idea for a blog.
Hope your dog feels better and stays well!

Thanks for calling me out Jen-I deserved it!
Must’ve been my ADD kicking in when I put the incomplete list together.
Again, great meeting everyone.

Think I got everyone in there finally. If not, yell and shout at me for being so forgetful and I’ll update the post.
Cheers!

Well now, I know we met and I didn’t get a call out here either… tsk tsk.
Just kidding! It was crazy in there and I was all over the place trying to keep on top of party details.
I’m so glad you had a good time though!! I love reading everyone’s recaps and stuff - I wish Darren/b5 were in the city more often so I could set up more parties! LOL
