Coming Up With Your Killer Idea - Part 2
So now that we know we have to fill a customer’s need and the different forms these needs can take, let’s take a look at where we can find the opportunities to fill these needs.
- You are a customer too. What needs and wants do you have?
- At work. Is there a segment of your employer’s market that they are not fullfilling?
- Everyday conversation. Keep your ears to the ground when talking with friends and family; especially when around acquaintances in your industry.
- Other startups. Where are they succeeding? Where are they missing their target? Are their any holes in their target market that they aren’t filling?
- Brainstorming. The classic idea generator, but a good one when trying to tap the “unrealized” domain of customer’s needs.
Next up, the bread and butter of your backyard startup: The People.
