Pillar #3 - The User-Interface Designer
So the entrepreneur creates the idea and the engineer turns the idea into reality. Great, now you have this grand product that can do XYZ and 123 and everything in between, but no one can use it because it’s incomprehensible to your customer. It’s ugly. The arms are where the legs should be. It speaks French and your customers are Spanish.
This is where the designer steps in:
- Translates technical into usable
- Communicates any feature changes with the engineer and entrepreneur for any retooling that needs to be done.
- Works closely with the engineer to properly implement the functionality
So there you have it, the 3 pillars of your startup team; The Entrepreneur, The Engineer and The Designer. They can all be one person or one can be many people. But in the end, they are all necessary to take your idea from just an idea to a finished product.
