Pillar #2 - The Technical Engineer
Although the startup starts with the entrepreneur, the engineer provides the critical task of making the idea actually work. Without the engineer, the entrepreneur doesn’t have a working product. The designer has no functionality to interface with the user. On the other hand, the engineer relies on the entrepreneur to guide him on what to build and the designer to translate his product into something understandable to the customer.
The engineer’s areas of responsibility includes:
- Take the entrepreneur’s vision and make it work
- Communicate any changes that need to be made due to practicality
- Work closely with the designer to fully realize the functional benefits to the user
Again, just a short list. What else can you think of?
